I don't have much to go by for my first concert experience, but the energy was phenomenal. The entire theatre+lawn hill is screaming and dancing, and everything is changed up when you see the songs live. Great live performance talents Earth, Wind and Fire has, with perfect staging and lights for the songs. Brandon never misses a note, and the instrumentals are varied and amazing. They played every song I wanted to hear live except one, and others I wouldn't have thought of, so I am definitely satisfied. The DTE Energy Music Theatre is set up sort of like an amusement park, and the theatre itself is huge and well laid out so no seat is really bad. Quite good, and talented was the opening band, except the difference is obvious between them and Earth, Wind and Fire. Their balance was off from the vocals to the instruments, so much that I couldn't understand any lyrics or hear solos highlighted to the extent they should be.
